Orla Kiely, the Dublin-born and London-based designer, has a fantastic bright, modern style. I love the Marimekko vibe with repetitive popping prints. She was called "The Queen of Prints" by The Guardian, and I don't think they're far off. Nothing is overly complicated or intricate, so each design needs to be gripping on it's own.
I first got interested in Orla Kiely because of two of her diaper bags, but I'm just about dying for her home goods right now. Maybe I could get someone to paint me a little Orla-inspired pattern on a ceramic mug from Goodwill or on a planter? They're a bit out of my price range, but I love the vintage modern vibes and you never know what you might see on eBay!
Do you like these modern graphic prints, or are they not your cup of tea?
