Is there anything harder than shopping for a little boy with semi-timeless, calm classics on the mind?
Avoiding trucks, construction, airplanes, and cartoon characters feels almost impossible. I love stripes as a general rule and I think they make for a great look on a little boy. Thick, classic sweaters with fun buttons and ears keep baby warm and stylish. I don't mind some playful animals here and there, I think it's more just a sense of wanting to keep his clothes calmer overall.
It was hard for me to make even one set for baby here, despite hitting tons of stores. This is going to be a sartorial challenge, but thankfully I've been shopping for my nephews for 5+ years and know that I have dozens of quality hand me downs coming my way!
For some reason, it seems like a lot of kids clothes these days are insanely gaudy and cheap looking. I'm hoping to keep characters and prints to something a bit more whimsical and old fashioned. I'm thinking reds, blues, greens and grays that wear well, don't fall out of style and don't look dated too quickly.
But I'm not going to lie... gosh, a girl would be so much easier to dress!
