There's been a million fun revelations about what it will mean to be a working mom with a little tyke in daycare. I'm not going to pretend that I'm not afraid, because it seems like a huge deal to find some strangers who can be trusted with your flesh and blood all day.
But, I've got a great new job with great family health benefits, which means I'm going to give this modern working mom thing a chance. Let's all remember when I'm crying while driving away from the daycare that giving this thing a chance is a good idea for all of us.
Focusing on the fun stuff: Little S is going to need his or her own bag for those spare clothes, pacifiers and diapers during the day. I couldn't resist throwing a Kraken bag in even though they're totally hipster and more for Mom or Dad than baby. It's tempting to pretend that things like this can make little investments that carry over as hand me downs, but realistically bags get knocked around and beaten to crap so I'm thinking cheap is more reasonable.
My guess is that at the end of the day we'll go with something like the fox that's cute and sweet and let them be little for awhile. One benefit is that preschool and kindergarten bags seem to range from $10-$20 which isn't bad at all. I love imagining The Boy with a baby on one hip and one of these cute little bags over his shoulder.

Do you have any favorites? Did you go straight to the LL Bean bags or did you stick with cutesy ones for awhile?
