You probably won't notice, but I kind of pushed myself here. I thought the giant, circular bookcase was a really bold piece that could grow with a child. I wasn't sure about that big circle with all the triangular mountains, but I kind of like the contrast.
So this set is tremendously grey. In real life, I'd probably flourish it up with some more greens and creams, but in this case I liked the monochrome vibe.
Let's talk natural wood. I think there's a lot of room to use unfinished wood for baby DIYs, and in this case I'm actually fully planning on going with things like a wooden rocker and a homemade wooden play gym, just because I hate the traditional overstuffed and brightly colored plastic crap. The dresser in unfinished wood with stenciled mountains was too cute to pass up.
In terms of price, the crib is a Babyletto retailing at almost $400. Personally, I don't think I could handle committing to an expensive crib, but I do love those smooth lines. If it really was the crib that sang to your hormonal dreams, it would be simple to balance the overall nursery cost with all of these little mountain decor details made out of felt, paint and wood. That compass wall hanging might be a bit overdone, but I really loved it here probably because it had more strong lines and points!
Too grey for you, or do you prefer your nurseries muted?
