So I've got to be honest, besides playing Mulan on Once Upon a Time (umm yeah, I'm a Captain Swan shipper, what of it?) I really wasn't sure what else Jamie Chung had done. She married a minor character from One Tree Hill, and she might've once been on a reality show, but beyond that I'm pretty unclear. However, after seeing a few paparazzi photos of her, I realized that the girl had serious style. It's been a while since we looked at street style instead of Red Carpet looks, so I thought she deserved a shout out.
I think there was a Banana Republic partnership at one point, which just feels entirely reasonable when you look at her prim with a twist wardrobe. Her looks are always conventional, but then with a unique, original detail. Plus, I actually love the "floating shoes" trick by consistently using thin straps and leaving the foot exposed.
I like this floral dress and strappy heel with a black leather blazer. On the right, that jacket should seem a bit Grandma, but somehow it adds a great visual texture to the basic t-shirt and cropped pants.
Her real skill is how she can make menswear inspired looks impossibly feminine and sexy. Those are some seriously tight overalls shown off with a sleek bun and platforms. On the left, her look is clearly menswear inspired, but the deep v-neck and the cropped leg length keep her from looking swamped.
In the same vein as the checkered top above, this casual flannel paired with a skin tight black leather skirt really shouldn't work this well. That very city-chic look is followed by a slightly flapper-esque beaded top and floating ballet skirt. Her range just really blows my mind.
Remember how I said she had a Banana collection? Well duh. This trench is spot on, and the look on the right screams Banana/Crew. I'm new to the black with brown game, so I can appreciate anyone pulling it off properly.
Do you find her kind of polish a bit too artificial or do you wish you could look that sleek running errands?
