As you've probably realized by now, graphic design is not exactly my strong point. I love finding images to share, but I'm really crap at arranging them! Enter Polyvore. I'd used it a bit ages ago to try making wardrobe sets, but been discouraged when I couldn't really control the sets or make them half as attractive as anyone else's.
But recently, I've been having a million talks with my sister about nursery themes and design, and I couldn't resist trying to make my own sets. I think Polyvore makes a lot more sense as a home design tool for me than a wardrobe one, because I rarely shop from the internet or actual store inventories anyway.
Enter, my very first Nursery set! I went with a National Parks theme because they've been on my mind like woah lately. Brace yourselves, by the way, because I couldn't resist sharing my Yellowstone Trip photos in an upcoming post.
The set is really anchored by lots of medium stained wood and earthy greens. I wanted to stick with a lot of adaptable neutrals because I really hate over-themed spaces, and it's also just so impractical to purchase everything themed and then try to go for a Pirate or Astronaut theme the next time around and need to re-purchase everything!
The creams, browns and greens are easily adaptable to both genders, you could personalize it by choosing posters of your favorite/preferred parks, and that bear bookcase is crazy expensive but the best inspiration piece ever! I love the idea of making the bookcase a very approachable space where kids can easily grab books themselves and feel hands on. Uniquely shaped bookcases have really been grabbing my eye recently.
What do you think about this nursery? Do you imagine doing more themed spaces for your kids, or keeping things minimal?
