FCF: Preacher's Ruth Negga

Ruth Negga is an Irish-Ethipoian beauty that came to widespread attention on the awards circuit last year after receiving her first Oscar nomination. She's a devil of a good time on Preacher with Dominic Cooper, but I've loved her since she played a wily antagonist on SHIELD. Her character was originally known as The Girl in the Flower Dress and the dichotomy between her evil ways and her delicate silk dresses was deliciously creepy! Let's take a look at her appearances in the past year and her unique sense of style.

Patterned Silks: She wears a lot of bright patterned silks cut in modest calf-lengths with long sleeves. I love the way she can look feminine without flashing even a hint of cleavage. The prints are always intricate and make a neutral base really pop.

Brights: Okay, so these may not be neon or anything but in a world of lipstick red and the LBD it is so refreshing to see someone not shying away from bright color on the red carpet. Here she is in a pale pink and lime green with blue trim. That's some serious color action. These dresses also both have nontraditional highlight areas, like the side trim on the green and the bright pink square at the collar.

Diversity: What is going on with these arms? She looks like she could take flight in this romantic red with it's cape-like arms. Then she upends things with a very structural smock like dress on the right. She somehow looks completely at home in any silhouette.

Metallics: Every now and again Ruth veers into sleek futuristic looks. I love the harsh zipper and tidy cap sleeves on the silver metallic. Then she shows off her collarbones on the right with splashes of shine on a structured dress. These pieces are a nice variation and really extend her range.

On a final note, she's Dominic Cooper's real life partner which is absolutely adorable. See you next week!
