Charlotte Olympia is a British shoe designer who realized that she loved footwear while complete her course at the London School of Fashion. She launched her business by her 30th birthday, and says that she's inspired by old Hollywood glamour. Personally what I love is the whimsy in her shoes and the way they are so completely committed to each theme. Her most famous piece is probably her collection of cat loafers that have been imitated everywhere. Her themes go from skulls and maidens on her flats, to fish on stilettos, to roses on strappy sandals. Let's take a peek at some of her collections!
Yay mermaids and fish scales.
And sexy skeletons and jazz singers.
And bursting summer roses on vibrant greens.
And London guards and geishas.
I'll never, ever own a pair, but I like to think that if I was buying some, I'd go with embroidered loafers and I'd do something I could never get sick of like the princess on the left.
Congrats to Charlotte Olympia on starting her own business in her late 20s while mothering 3 kiddos and bustling about London. Her shoes are magical, and show such love and care. An artist indeed!
