Fashion: Crushed Velvet

You're cooler than me (I'm sure!) so you probably already know that velvet is one of Fall 2016's hottest looks. I don't know where it came from but it looks utterly fantastic in almost any form. The blue is incredibly rich and I love the way it looks paired with the modern cut off silhouette.

The easiest approach might be a velvet button down shirt. Crushed and soft to the touch, it drapes flatteringly and would probably actually keep you warm.

These shoes are impractical and would probably get wrecked with one spin out to dinner, but they look superb. Personally, I've never actually seen someone wear them out and I wouldn't mind being the first!

If you really don't give AF you could wear an embroidered velvet suit out and about.

More realistically a blazer, like English smoking jacket style, would be so fantastic. Plus if you're Cara Delevingne, the whole pants on the bottom component is optional.

These dresses are insane. They remind me of this burgundy American Girl dress that I wore for Christmas when I was like nine, but infinitely more mature. They somehow don't look heavy at all and have a lot of fluidity because of the deep cuts.

Obviously I'm late to this game, but I think I've got to get aboard the velvet train! Do you own any velvet?
