Tribute Tuesday: Zodiac Fashion

Vogue Japan Dec. 2015
Zodiac and constellation embroidery has been popping up for the past year in haute couture, which means it can't be long until it trickles down to mass fashion. I'm a huge sucker for embroidery already, and navy and gold are just so captivating together. This is a trend that I'm going ca-ray-zay waiting to see on the mass market level!

The embroidery detail on these pieces truly feels like fine art. The richness of the navy velvet is able to really hold the fine thread detail and let it stay textured and thick to the touch.

The cape in the upper right might seem like a bit much, but the dresses are absolutely dynamite. Clearly this is a trend that can work on sheer, gauzy materials just as well as on winter's thick velvets.

Valentino Pre-Fall 2015
The gauzy, ethereal vibe shared between McQueen and Saint Laurent is spot on. Imagine working these patterns into a flowing silk skirt or a draping, semi-sheer cocktail dress.

For a richer blue with silver accents, Murad offers us a look at the Milky Way. Anyone feeling like Ramadu's daughter yet?

Zuhair Murad Fall 2015
If you're looking for more subtle ways to work the Zodiac into your street style, try some simple Big Dipper stud earrings or a sign pendant. You may worry about the re-wearability of a show stopping constellation dress in the age of Facebook, but you could get some serious mileage out of astronomy accessories!
