We've got an Original in our midst! This vampire has been around for 2,000 years and seen a LOT of fashion (and... victims...) come and go.
Rebekah has made it through just about every fashion cycle from the Vikings to the Renaissance to the Victorian to the Flapper to the aughts. She missed a decade every now and again (of all people to stab and hide in a coffin for years, Klaus, really?) but when she's amongst the living, girl is on point.
Rebekah commits. As this 20 lb. necklace and debatable fascinator indicate. When your most frequent date is your sociopathic brother, you learn to grab some attention in a room. Rebekah's formal game reflects her long history of floor length, tightly fitted gowns.
Rebekah always makes me think of old school glamour (for obvious reasons) and this flapper outfit really highlights her sophistication. Her hair is perfectly coiffed, the necklaces are dangling, and again she's in a solid neutral enhanced with subtle beading.
Rebekah isn't going to let small town Virginia get her down. For the family ball in Mystic Falls, we've got tight satin, sleek hair, and power dressing. Rebekah isn't a boho baby, and she isn't a preppy Barbie. She's well aware of her sex appeal, and firmly believes in dressing like a grown woman at all times. No princess prom dresses here. Once again, you'll note that she also isn't open to a print.
Street style gets a little interesting for Rebekah because in many ways it seems like a departure from her very sleek, old Hollywood formal style. Rebekah feels like a modern character in her street style and loves outrageous stilettos, tight jeans, and leather jackets. Our writers don't want us to forget that Rebekah is powerful, cunning and still very, very dangerous.
What do you say? Has Rebekah carried an authentic sense of style through the centuries? And how much do you love her observation about 21st century dressing below?
